KNKX and Giordano Productions Present Paoli Mejías Latin Jazz Quintet
We're thrilled to have the Paoli Mejías Latin Jazz Quintet make their fiery hot debut at the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute!
Carlos Santana's percussionist, Paoli Mejías, is a Latin Grammy nominee and a distinguished master percussionist from Puerto Rico, ranked among the best in both Latin Jazz and salsa. His charisma and energetic Afro-Caribbean rhythms are notorious for bringing the public to their feet!
As a bandleader, Paoli fuses straight-ahead jazz with African, Mediterranean and Caribbean folkloric rhythms to create a new dimension of Latin Jazz that is global, energetic and modern. Mejías has performed and recorded with a long list of top artists: Carlos Santana, Chick Corea, Marc Anthony, Tito Puente, Luis Enrique, David Sanchez, La India, Seis del Solar, and Eddie Palmieri to name only a few. The Paoli Mejías Latin Jazz Quintet at the historic Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute is bound to be an energetic evening of high octane Latin jazz. See you there!
