"Just Like Now" follows the romantic endeavors of best friends Brody and Lissa in their senior year at a small, southern university. For Brody, a late night Grindr hook-up becomes an unexpected connection with Thomas, a journalist who's new in town on assignment. Meanwhile, Lissa wants more out of her casual, unclear relationship with Beth, a sorority sister with secrets of her own. "Just Like Now" reinvents the romantic comedy genre for a new generation of lovers and celebrates the power of queer friendships. "Just Like Now" is presented as the first of two plays that spotlight queer artists.
