Too Hip Comedy Presents A Farewell to Jeremy Essig
Come wish farewell to one of the funniest comic talents to ever call St. Louis home. Jeremy Essig is headed for greener pastures, so come say goodbye at one of the finest comedy showcases in the city.
Tickets are $7.50 online and $10 at the venue.
Jeremy's comedy, described in NUVO magazine as "Intelligent Cynicism," walks the line between "smart" comedy and mindless indulgence. In a matter of minutes, Essig can move seamlessly between current events and kitchen appliances, weaving the two together with a nod to his love of pop culture.
Essig has released three comedy albums that have appeared on XM/Sirius Satellite Radio as well as on his own Pandora Channel. He has also appeared more than fifteen times on the nationally syndicated Bob and Tom radio show as well as multiple times on National Public Radio.
An accomplished writer, Essig has also had pieces appear in the Columbia Missourian, Riverfront Times and Louisville's Leo. A graduate of Wake Forest University and Ohio native, Essig moved to St. Louis in 2004 where he became a fixture in the city's thriving comedy scene.
St. Louis Magazine dubbed him a "comic to watch" and KDHX's "Slip of the Disc" radio show featured his segment "Six Degrees of Tommy Stinson," a celebration of Essig's love of music and trivia. Essig spends his downtime reading comic books, playing with his dogs and patiently awaiting his bands' 20-year reunions.
