"Medical Emergencies in the Dental Office" Presented by Dr. Nicole NcKown - CEUs 2
The Middlesex District Dental Society dinner meeting will include a presentation on Medical Emergencies in the Dental Office. The course will entail a review of dental emergencies that are commonly encountered in the dental office and how they should be handled. Additionally, the course will review strategies for emergency preparedness and compliance with state laws for the private practice dentist.
Learning Objectives: 1. Know State Law regarding emergency preparedness 2. Know guidelines on how to handle common major emergencies 3. Be comfortable with emergency equipment and drugs 4. Have the ability to implement an emergency preparedness program in their office
Speaker Bio: Dr. Nicole McKown is a dentist anesthesiologist who completed her training at Columbia Dental School and Jacobi Medical Center in New York. She is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine, a Clinical Instructor at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and a Staff Anesthesiologist at Franciscan Childrens Hospital. Dr. McKown also works in private practice in the Greater Boston area with Northeast Dental Anesthesia Associates providing general anesthesia services to private dentists in the comfort of their own office.
