The Greek Play Project New York
Eclipses Group Theater New York (www.egtny.com), in collaboration with The Greek Play Project (www.greek-theatre.gr), presents the second annual Greek Play Project New York: a weekend of staged readings of contemporary Greek plays at New York University.
The plays:
Lebensraum by Thanasis Triaridis A two-person, modern-day theatrical experiment that poses questions regarding the Nazi theory of Lebensraumthe vital spacetakes an unexpected and dangerous turn.
Babies Are Delivered by the Stork by Michalis Reppas and Thanasis Papathanasiou Thessaloniki, 1943. A young Jew runs away from the Dachau death trains and returns home to hide. But in his supposedly empty house (following the persecution of Thessalonikis Jews) now live two Greek couples, whose homes have been bombarded. The Greeks will hide the Jew, but their German and Greek friends are out for blood.
The Threat by Artemis Moustaklidou A married couple living isolated in its apartment is terrified when an immigrant family moves in next door. As husband and wife lock themselves in the apartment, time passes, their supplies dwindle, and their paranoia increases.
