FORUM begins on Thursday June 9th at 5PM and ends on Sunday, June 12 at 1PM.

Each June, Skidmore Colleges John B. Moore Documentary Studies Collaborative (MDOCS) Storytellers Institute hosts a weekend-long Documentary Forum public presentations of artistic and scholarly work, skill-building workshops and deep-dive conversations around an annual theme.

Join us for the weekend of June 6th-9th for a full schedule of events addressing the theme of humor in documentary work. Humor: Laughing With RealityIn a world continually on the brink of apocalypse, in which absurdity is a daily occurrence, how can we not laugh at reality if we want to survive it?

This years theme honors the long tradition of non-fiction makers who, through satire and silliness, have employed humor as means to transgress social norms, toy with the taboo, and empower us through laughter.
