AFP Luncheon, April 2019
Women in Philanthropy Panel

As trends in fundraising begin showing the financial muscle of women, and as more women reach leadership positions, it is important for fundraisers to understand women in philanthropy, their roles and their motives for giving. This is not only important when asking for individual dollars but also dollars from foundations especially women giving organizations. We will host three panelists from various women giving organizations in the Upstate of South Carolina. Barb Collins will join us from Dining for Women. Kirsten Miller will represent Women Giving for Spartanburg, and Emelia Stephenson will represent Greenville Women Giving. Our panel will be moderated by Chapman Cultural Centers President/CEO, Jennifer Evins. Together we will explore how women are changing the philanthropic landscape, how fundraisers/grant writers can shape their strategy to effectively engage women philanthropist through cultivation and stewardship, the dos and donts of an effective grant application, womens motivations for giving, etc.
