Carla Olson and Todd Wolfe
Acclaimed songwriter, producer and guitarist Carla Olson and iconic guitarist and songwriter Todd Wolfe will visit The Living Room in support of their CD "The Hidden Hills Sessions," which will be released by Red Parlor Records on May 3rd. The album is a collection of originals and cover songs ranging in style from acoustic rock
to blues to Americana music.
The "Live Unplugged" tour will feature Olson (Textones, Gene Clark, Mick Taylor) and Wolfe (Sheryl Crow, Leslie West) performing new songs as well as deep cuts in roots, Americana, rock 'n roll and blues.
About Carla Olson:
Olson has made her career as a singer, songwriter, bandleader, and producer on the west coast. She appeared in Bob Dylans first video ("Sweetheart Like You"). Dylan gave Olson one of his songs "Clean Cut Kid" to return the favor! Her 1984 debut album, "Midnight Mission," was as leader of the Textones and included Gene Clark, Ry Cooder, and Don Henley as guests. A few years later Clark and Olson recorded what many view as the first Americana album, "So Rebellious A Lover." Since then she has released solo albums and a live record with Mick Taylor. Olson is one of the few currently active women record producers and her credits include Paul Jones, Phil Upchurch, Joe Louis Walker, and Barry Goldberg. Her recent duets album, "Have Harmony, Will Travel," featured Richie Furay, Juice Newton, John York, and James Intveldt. Olson has also worked with Mick Taylor, Percy Sledge, Ry Cooder, Eric Clapton, and many others.
About Todd Wolfe:
Todd Wolfe spent five years touring the world with Sheryl Crow, including writing and recording with her. Since his departure from Sheryls band, he has spent the past 15 years touring Europe with his own band, The Todd Wolfe Band, and releasing nine solo albums. Wolfe has also recorded with legendary Mountain guitarist-singer Leslie West. He can be heard on two recent albums by Leslie West as well as two albums by Mountain. Wolfe has appeared on two of Carla Olsons albums as well as joining her on a tour of Japan in the early 90s. His songs have been covered by artists including Stevie Nicks, Faith Hill, Larry McCray, and Deborah Coleman, to name a few.
