In Search of High C's: A Mezzo's Life
Krista is a local singer, musician and performer, and is so honored to be part of the Barn Players family. She was last seen in the Barn Players production of "Chicago" as Velma Kelly, and last performed at the Arts Asylum in the world premiere of "Overture," a musical she composed and co-wrote with Barbara Nichols. Krista is also known in the early childhood world as Funky Mama, and has performed for thousands of kids and families across the Midwest for the last 15 years (www.funkymamamusic.com), and her bluesy sound and red guitar carried her to the White House as an invited performer for the 2007 Easter Egg Roll. Favorite musical roles include Patsy Cline (Always, Patsy Cline), Narrator (Joseph...Dreamcoat), and dear ole' Velma, suckers. Krista's next acting project in Kansas City is as Myrtle in "Mornings at Seven" with the Kansas City Actors Theatre, and is continuing to write new works for the stage throughout 2019. Krista is also a mom to two teenage boys, so you can pray for her.
