JOSEPH is the first musical collaboration of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber to be performed publicly and was quickly nominated for numerous Tony Awards as well as Laurence Olivier Awards. Originally conceived as a way to tell the Biblical story of Joseph and his "coat of many colors", it also shows the creation of the nation of Israel this time, against the backdrop of the Six Day War in 1967. As Hebrews, Christians, and Jordanians come together (and perhaps apart) through the story and songs, will the spirit of Joseph's tale win over everyone? A musical for all families with memorable songs such as the moving and poignant "Close Every Door", the humorous "Those Canaan Days", and "Any Dream Will Do", this JOSEPH is one that will inspire.
