Baraka Moon with Serena Gabriel
BARAKA MOON delivers pulsing, soulful and spiritually charged dance music with a positive message of peace for the whole world!  Uniting influences from mystical Sufi trance songs, Indian ragas, African beats & the Australian Aboriginal didgeridoo Baraka Moon is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Sukhawat Ali Khan  Baraka Moons charismatic and passionate vocalist draws from his luminary familys 600 year old Pakistani singing tradition with a voice that comes straight from the heart and soars to the heavens. He can also be heard squeezing and cajoling sweet ragas and shredding blues riffs from his harmonium.

Stephen Kent  A one-man-band Didgeridoo/Percussion virtuoso, he is a globally acclaimed pioneer in bringing the ancient Aboriginal instrument to the contemporary world. With a primal shout, he conjures a deep and earthy pulse that is the vibratory core of Baraka Moons compelling groove engine.

Peter Warren  Our Drummer/Percussionist is responsible for the irresistible and dynamic power of Baraka Moons full on dance beats, with grooves honed over many years performing with African musicians and dancers in the U.S. and his native Canada.

Anastasi Mavrides  Bringing his seasoned and unique guitar work to the music, Anastasi blends shimmering chordal voicings, soaring anthemic melodies and downright super-funky rhythms. He also provides lush supporting vocals to Sukhawats singing.

Serena Gabriel is a visionary musician, performing and recording artist and multi disciplinary healing arts practitioner(L.Ac., MAcOM). She creates sacred space with intentional sound for innovative events and projects, performs worldwide and is a facilitator of group and private therapeutic sessions.

Serenas exploration of world instruments, the healing arts and music production has led her to develop a unique style that spans several genres such as meditation, tribal medicine music, electro-acoustic, experimental and ambient downtempo. Whether she is playing drum, didgeridoo, flute or kalimba or incorporating the art of looping with acoustic instrumentation, vocals and electronic elements (synths & samplers), the sound is a deeply felt and richly textured co-creation with the present moment.
