Fifth Annual Taste of Slavic Village
University Settlement is hosting an exciting fundraiser, the 5th Annual Taste of Slavic Village, presented by the Third Federal Foundation. The event will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the beautiful Sokol Greater Cleveland's Bohemian National Hall in the heart of Slavic Village. The event celebrates the history and culture of Slavic Village whereby attendees are able to enjoy the specialty foods and live entertainment from Slavic Village and beyond while supporting the organization's Hunger Center. In addition, guests will have the opportunity to bid on exciting raffle items.
University Settlement is a non-profit social service agency that serves the needs of the community through a variety of social, educational and health programs that transform the lives of children, families and seniors. The agency has served the Broadway neighborhood since 1926 when it was established by what is now Case Western Reserve University to help Eastern European immigrants start new lives in Cleveland.
Today, our talented and committed staff, supplemented by more than 1,500 volunteers, operates 11 major programs and served over 12,000 individuals in 2012. The needs in the community continue to grow as demand for our services have grown over 60% in the past two years.
