The Shimmering Verge by Molly Peacock
A Solo Show in Poems Featuring Readings by Toronto Poets In Celebration of National Poetry Month
About: The Shimmering Verge juxtaposes verse and prose in an exploration of the fine line between metaphor and reality in life and in art. In Molly's own words: "Like stones into a ring the poems are set among stories, confidences, little elucidations--funny, wry, sexy, sad, and shocking." From love, sex and marriage to loss, death and spirituality, the play uncovers the poetry in everyday life.
The play will be performed in double bill with readings from a selection of dynamic Toronto page and stage poets including:
Michael Fraser (Thursday April 4) Doyali Islam (Friday April 5) Anne Michaels (Saturday April 6) Tanya Neumeyer (Thursday April 11) Luke Reece (Thursday April 11) Sachiko Murakami (Friday April 12) Lara Bozabalian (Saturday April 13)
Sponsors: These readings are generously sponsored by beloved local bookstores: Seekers Books, The Book Exchange, The Great Escape Bookstore and BMV Books. This production is being presented with support from the League of Canadian Poets and the Toronto Arts Council with funding from the City of Toronto.
