Over the weekend you will learn to make a strong oval shopping basket using traditional English weaving techniques. Ideal for taking round the supermarket and much better than a plastic bag to carry your shopping home in. It doesn't topple over in your car on the way home either.
This class is for people who already have experience of working with willow. You will learn how to make an oval base, with the option of learning how to make it underfoot. You will also learn techniques to upset the sides of an oval basket and turn down a border suitable for the basket. A strong wrapped handle will be added.
There will be a maximum of five people in this class at my studio so you will be able to get the attention needed to hone your skills. There will also be an opportunity to learn about and see first hand how willow is soaked and prepared.
Tea and coffee and biscuits/snacks are provided. There is a local pub where you could buy lunch or else you are welcome to bring your own to eat in the workshop or outside.
All materials are included in the price and all tools needed are provided.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Payment is required in full at the time of booking to secure a place. In the event of cancellation, a full refund can be obtained from Brown Paper Tickets up to two months prior to the date of the class.
If you need to cancel after this please contact me. I will give you an 80% refund if your place can be filled by someone else. I will make all reasonable effort to fill your place but if this is not possible I will not be able to offer a refund. In the event of non attendance no refund will be given. If the course cannot run for any reason, a full refund will be given.
