Willamette Theater Festival Repertory Season
Willamette Theater Festival is proud to kick off our inaugural Repertory Season with "The Tempest," directed by Dan Stone, and "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)," directed by Leslie Hammond.
TICKETS ARE VALID FOR EITHER SHOW. Just note when the shows are playing, come on the correct night, and your ticket gets you in.
SHOW TIMES: "The Tempest" runs Aug. 9 and 17 at 8:00pm, and Aug. 10 and 18 at 2:00pm. "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)" runs Aug. 10 and 16 at 8:00pm, and Aug. 11 and 17 at 2:00pm.
THE TEMPEST: Featuring Tinamarie Ivey as Prospera, "The Tempest" is a bold vision of Shakespeare's tale of romance, magic, and a deserted island. The final masterpiece of Shakespeare's life, "The Tempest" pits the desire for revenge against the demands of love, and captures the essence of the human condition through its timeless themes. Marooned with her daughter Miranda, Prospera has spent years perfecting her magic, using her servants Ariel and Caliban to enact a plan for revenge. An enchanted tale filled with humor and adventure, "The Tempest" is ultimately a tale of redemption and forgiveness.
THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE (ABRIDGED): "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)" takes on the challenge of covering all 37 of Shakespeare's plays, in only 97 minutes, with only three actors. Sounds completely bonkers, right? And that's what you can expect, in this irreverent, fast-paced romp through the entire opus of the world's greatest playwright. Starring Eric Nepom, Benjamin Sell, and Michael Winder, "Shakespeare (Abridged)" has been described as a "high-speed roller-coaster type condensation of all of Shakespeare's plays, and is not recommended for people with heart ailments, bladder problems, inner-ear disorders and/or people inclined to motion sickness" and may or may not suffer from a few wigs, explosions, and other natural disasters. Created by the esteemed Reduced Shakespeare Company, this show has been entertaining Shakespeare friends and foes for over 20 years.
We invite our patrons to buy ticket packages for both shows, to experience both wildly inventive perspectives on the Bard!
Tickets are $15 - or see both shows with our 2 for $25 offer!
