Toronto-based Aviva Chernick is perhaps best known as the former lead singer with the two-time Juno Awardnominated world music ensemble Jaffa Road and for her solo work exploring the Balkan Judeo-Spanish repertoire. Aviva is also a prayer leader and a Jewish mindfulness meditation teacher. Of late, she has begun adding Yiddish song to her repertoire. Aviva explores her journey and her newfound interest in Yiddish in conversation with Seth Rogovoy.
