Vira Lozinsky is widely regarded as one of the greatest living exponents of Yiddish song. Vira was born in Moldova, where her father was a poet and playwright who founded a Yiddish theater and her mother was a prolific performer and singer of Yiddish and Romanian songs. She moved to Israel at age 16, and after graduating from Israel's prestigious Rimon School of Jazz & Contemporary Music she met the great Yiddish singer Nechama Lifshitz, who has since remained her teacher and mentor. Vira explores her Yiddish roots and influences in conversation with Seth Rogovoy.
