The Helen and Irving Sunshine Memorial Concert
The great Moldovan-born, Israel-based Yiddish vocalist Vira Lozinsky makes her Yidstock debut accompanied by pioneering Yiddish music revivalist Hankus Netsky, best known as founder of the Klezmer Conservatory Band. Vira blends her singing with a variety of musical styles from East European folk (klezmer, Gypsy, Romanian, Russian) to South American tango. Her repertoire includes new songs as well as Yiddish folk songs, songs of Bessarabian, Romanian, and Polish Jewish poets, and songs of classical and modern Yiddish poets.
