Turning the Ship Around Wading through the Plastic Seas
A lot of plastic packaging is a problem in our discard stream. Markets have tightened as a result of China's National Sword policy and we are short of domestic markets for some plastic resins.
The Global Recycling Council of CRRA and the Gold Rush Chapter of SWANA are co-sponsoring a day-long workshop on markets and contamination hosted by Rethink Waste. The focus of the day will be on plastic packaging (but we may address other problem packages as well), and how local governments, collectors, processors and brokers are addressing these challenges.
