Event
150 years of Brazilian Music
Local Minneapolis-based trio Choro Borealis (Robert Everest: 7-string guitar, cavaquinho, vocals; Pat O'Keefe: clarinet; Tim O'Keefe: percussion, mandolin) is teaming up with cutting-edge Brazilian experimentalists DIBIGODE on their first ever tour of the Midwest for their stop at the Fine Line Music Café in Minneapolis. The tour kicks off with a unique opportunity to experience a 150-year trajectory of Brazilian music - from one of the oldest Brazilian musical traditions to a very modern 21st century approach on July 2, 2013, at the Fine Line in Minneapolis at 7:30 p.m. Dynamic local artist Kati Mae Duesler will be beginning a series of live performance art that will evolve during each show of the Dibigode tour; this will be a continuation of collaborative efforts made between visual and musical artists in Brazil. Brazilian drinks - caipirinhas and guaraná - will be available specially for this event.
7:00 Doors 7:30 Choro Borealis 9:00 Dibigode
Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. This is a 21+ event.
