Let's celebrate life and love. Dancing all day with the whole family at Forrobodó.
Discover a new cultural jam in Toronto and enjoy the contagious music of Northeastern Brazil featuring live performances by Diogo Ramos (FORRÓ BRASA - MONTREAL). alongside with Brazilian sweetheart Flavia Nascimento. This party will bring you, into the universe of Forró pé de serra: Baião, Xaxado, Xote, Rastapé, and much more.

Experience the different facets of Forró, such as it's music and culture and learn the basic steps of Brazilian dance before the show.

Diogo Ramos
is a singer-songwriter from Sao Paolo, Brazil. Ramos music is part of a long tradition of Brazilian folk singers. In 2010, Ramos left Brazil to settle in Montreal where he obtained a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance from the University of Quebec in Montreal. Ramos has been working professionally for 20 years as a music producer, having released 16 albums. In 2012, Ramos produced the album Egológico Recycle, dedicated to Rommel Ribeiro as part of the 2012-2013 Révélations Radio-Canada award in the world music category. In 2014, Ramos directed the album O Momento Presente é Azul by renowned artist Paulo Ramos.

2018 marks the release of Ramos album Samba sans Frontières, where he pays homage to his country of adoption through the interpretation of the works of Gilles Vigneault, Félix Leclerc, Pierre Perreault and his own compositions where Portuguese and French intertwine. As Ramos remarkable guitar playing and voice discovers the language of his new country its Franco Bossa-nova. A recipient of a Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ) research and creation grant in 2017, Ramos has also received the Conseil des arts de Montréals Coup de Coeur award and MAtvs Coup de Coeur award at the 2017 MUZ Festival (Vision Diversity) a tribute to world music in Montreal.

Flávia Nascimento
began her performing career as an actress and singer touring Brazil in musical theatre productions. Then she met a Quebec volunteer traveling with Cirque du Soleils show Cirque to Monde, and moved to Quebec City in 2001. That city has been her base ever since as she traveled throughout Canada for concert performances, block parties, street festivals like the Brazilian festival Uma and benefit shows. She's also been busy leading the bands Pé na Rua, Forrossanova and her Smallest Big Band.

Flávia's favorite style of music, forró, originated in Northeastern Brazil. Its roots are in various folk dance styles and beats, and it enjoys widespread popularity all over Brazil.
