Comedy Night with Rob Durham
The Lincoln County R3 Education Foundation is proud to host comedian Rob Durham at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds on Saturday, February 23, 2019. The event will feature two comedians, a raffle, and silent auction. All proceeds will benefit the Lincoln County R3 Education Foundation's grants program.
Rob Durham is a touring stand-up comedian and a high school English teacher, so his students learned right away not to heckle. As an author, hes published the highly praised book, Dont Wear Shorts on Stage, and has just recently released his first YA novel, Around the Block.
With a smile that says I didnt get my braces off until I was 27, Rob shares the frustrations and joys of teaching. For almost two decades, Rob has built an original act that favors the cleaner side of comedy but should still be kept away from the ears of his students (though they are impressed that hes opened for 2 of the 3 uncles on Full House).
Opening for Rob Durham is St. Louis Native Brian McDowell. Brian McDowell performed in comedy clubs around the country before temporarily retiring to write an award-winning humor column for a small-town newspaper in Kansas. Upon his comeback to the comedy stage, the hard-working comic has been bowling audiences over and placing highly in several comedy contests with his clever material and ranting style. Called half-crazed and wholly hilarious by the St. Louis Post Dispatch, McDowells goal is to deliver entertainment everywhere, from coffeehouses and small bars to some of the countrys most esteemed comedy clubs.
Tickets are $25.00 in advance, $30.00 at the door, and includes beer and setups. Guests may bring their own snacks. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and comedy will begin at 7:00 p.m.
