Naked Girls Reading presents "Reading a Rainbow"
The written word has long been one of the most powerful tools with which marginalized communities have struck back against their oppressors. Whether it be a small group of activists starting their own paper in the wake of the Stonewall Riots, or Harvey Milk carefully penning his acceptance speech, ink on paper carries great weight in the execution of social change.
With this in mind, as the city of Portland celebrates LGBTQ Pride Month throughout June, Naked Girls Reading presents their "Reading a Rainbow" edition-- featuring some of the city's loveliest women reading works of tolerance or selections penned by LGBTQ-identified authors.
This event takes place on Friday, June 21st, 2013 at the Jack London Bar. Doors will open at 8:00pm, and the readings will begin promptly at 9:00pm. Only drinking-aged adults are permitted, and attendees are advised that this event features full nudity.
Tickets are very strongly encouraged, and are $10 prior to the event at nakedpdxrainbow.brownpapertickets.com. Admission at the door is $15.
