The Dance of Winter: A Movement Class To Enhance Your Peace of Mind : w/Anandha Ray

Winter brings gloomy days and a lack of sunlight, and seasonal changes that cause many to feel more intensity of sad emotions. It also brings the holiday season which can evoke feelings that are difficult to process. We often miss the departed most during the holidays. Conversely it is a season of joy and celebration.

Are you experiencing prolonged or intense sad emotions? Is there grief, sadness or depression that isnt healing? Do you feel emotionally off? Are you ready to find the peace that is available in this winter season? Do you want to find the pathway to celebrate all of life?

Emotional pain is part of being human and takes time to heal. But when the emotional pain is prolonged and your attempts to express it and heal are not creating more peace of mind, it can feel like youre being tortured.

Repeating patterns of difficult emotions can get stuck in the body. Emotions have an energetic signature that can become bound in the muscles and joints of the body. Through dance we can release emotions that are difficult for the thinking mind to work through.

Through a groundbreaking format in a guided improvisational movement class called Intuitive Technique you will learn to release binding energies that may have a causative function in depression, anxiety, obsessive thinking and even illness. Through dance we will foster a greater emotional balance and peace of mind.

Wear clothes that are easy to dance in. Bare your feet and open your heart for a fulfilling experience moving your body with an ease and grace that will surprise you.

Grief Ritual: w/Ayah Buonaugurio

After spending some deep time with myself in retreat, I had a revelation. . . I began to see how disease, illness, sadness, depression, addictions all begin because humans have lacked the ability to express their grief. It's all the same heart-aching pain, with different stories and colors. If only we could embrace it for as long as it wants to be held, and express it however scary it may appear, that GRIEF may begin to transform and change us and give us the love that we have truly desired underneath it all along.

The Grief Ritual is a transformative movement process developed by Anandha Ray and Ayah Buonaugurio. Understanding that when humans are unable to give voice to their grief, than discordance manifests through unhappiness & illnesses. The Grief Rite is a safe space guiding a somatic expression to individuals allowing what is often difficult to access emotions. We invite you into this space to dance and explore the medicine of your own grief. Very often our sadness (may it be individual or global), once felt and witnessed becomes a great ally of inner strength and guidance for the times to come.

Dancers will be guided from a safe place into movement from an improvised structure which allows for the freedom of sensual expression and emotion to arise authentically from each one individually. There will be witnesses & invitation for movement to become more developed for those willing to go a little deeper into emotions. You need only to bring a willingness to explore in your own expressive movements and gestures that respond to your personal or collective Grief or concern for the mother earth.

Since then she has been studying sound work techniques with beloved mentor Tito La Rosa. My approach to sound work is emotive, intuitive, and interactive, as we open the doorway for what is present for you.
