Cocktails and Conversations: How to Flip Unconscious Bias
This panel will discuss how our social constructs and gender roles are NOT destinies that must be fulfilled. Women and men are responsible for developing positive systems of behavior in such a way that allows men to eradicate toxic behavior and women to free themselves from the confines of gender socialization. Part of this discussion will look at the unconscious bias we develop at a young age, that solidifies toxic behaviors and gender socialization.
Panelists: Siri Chilazi of Harvard University, Shan Mukhtar PhD of Providence College and Stephanie Huckel from IGT and Sandra Victorino from Providence Center. Moderated by: Susan Bosco and Ame Lambert from RWU
Please take one or more of these surveys before attending the event. The results won't be shared, but you'll have some idea about your own biases that may not have been apparent before. https://implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/takeatest.html
