Rancho Los Cerritos: Rancho Adventure
Step back in history on a Rancho Adventure! Children will learn about daily life on a 19th century California sheep ranch by exploring the 1844 adobe house, doing historic chores, and playing old-fashioned games. Fully costumed historic characters bring history to life! These fast-paced, highly interactive tours are designed for homeschoolers and open to all ages!
The mission of Rancho Los Cerritos Historic Site is to restore and preserve the ranch house structure and grounds, collect appropriate resources, and interpret the relationship of the Ranchos diverse peoples, from the period before Spanish settlement, when Native Americans controlled the land, through the development of the Long Beach area, to the present day. This is accomplished through a broad spectrum of educational programs, exhibits, and publications designed to provide local residents, students, and other visitors with an understanding of the forces that shaped this region.
Tours begin at 1:00 and 3:00, run approximately 90 minutes
