FABO COLLABO is back - at SOTA in NOTA! A collaborative dance performance featuring BIODANCE, Bill Evans Dance Company, Futurpointe Dance, Geomantics Dance Theatre, presented at the School of the Arts in the Neighborhood of the Arts, Rochester, NY on June 8 @ 8:00pm & June 9 @ 4:00pm.
The FABO COLLABO performance program includes the world premiere of "For Jamie," a fast-paced virtuosic piece that was choreographed by Bill Evans, set on the Bill Evans Dance Company to music by Brahms. And the world premiere of "Letter to the World (1.5),"* choreographed by D. Chase Angier, set on BIODANCE. "Letter to the World (1.5)" explores the increasingly common isolation of individuals because of architectural choices that separate people, especially Seniors. The program includes the Rochester premiere of "Urban Fissure" (Choreographed by Chris Walker** with music by Bob Marley, Erykah Badu and Busta Rhymes) that is set on FuturPointe Dance. The Sunday, June 9 performance features the Rochester premiere of Bill Evans' "The Field of Blue Children" that is based on a short story of the same title by Tennessee Williams set on the Bill Evans Dance Company. "The Field of Blue Children" had its world-premiere in 1979 and featured Bill Evans and American Ballet Theatre ballerina Cynthia Gregory.
There is an early-bird discount for patrons buying tickets online at brownpapertickets by 6/7 midnight! The price will be $25/$15 at the door starting June 8-June 9.
