ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE
---------------
Founded in 1988, Kathy Mata Ballet is a community-oriented dance company. This performance will feature something for everyone, with newly choreographed works as well as tried-and-true classics in a variety of dance styles, including classical and contemporary ballet, modern, jazz, and belly dance. In City College of San Francisco's beautiful new performance theater on the 3rd floor of the Wellness Center (Ocean Ave @ Howth St), the dancers will be accompanied by live music and joined by special guests Blue Scorpion Dance Theater and Strong Pulse Dance Crew.
Tickets are complimentary. Though, if you can afford it, we hope you'll consider supporting us by purchasing tickets at one of the higher price levels. Your support helps us at Kathy Mata Ballet to continue our work and keeps tickets free for those who need it! You can purchase any combination of free and paid tickets to support us at just the amount you want. (We have no other source of funding but donations from friends and supporters.)

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Kathy Mata Ballet is one of the few dance companies in the country to provide talented adult dancers from non-dance professions with the opportunity to train and perform. The company dancers, all of whom rehearse at least four times a week on top of their professional working days, come from a variety of careers including accounting, engineering, law, and scientific research. Harnessing the power of dance to build, serve, and inspire communities is one of the group's great joys. The company regularly performs at places like the Sequoias Senior Living Center and the Castro Senior Center, among others. We also have been involved in performing in the Spring Dance Inspiration show at the Cowell Theater, which has raised tens of thousands of dollars for brain tumor research and treatment.
