Faithfull, Mick Jagger's Muse
London, 1968. Marianne Faithfull is famous, rich and immersed in a passionate relationship with Mick Jagger. She was a British pop sensation, fashion icon and muse to many... five years later, she had nothing. When the spotlights turned and Marianne was surrounded by scandal, she was a faced with the mythology that grew around her. She was "the victim of cool, the tyranny of hip." In the days leading up to her very public fall, Marianne grappled with her love for Mick and her love for drugs. This one woman show written & performed by Fiona Graham and alongside the wonderful direction of Susan Batson, explores the woman behind the tabloids, her relationship with Mick Jagger, her need to be adored and taken care of and her longing to be recognized and respected as a woman. With the use of clever visuals, powerful movement and visceral text Marianne's story pokes us to examine our own addictions, shadows, and tragic flaws and to reflect on a time when women were on the brink of the sexual revolution that would alter our society forever.
