Bath Fringe Spiegeltent presents: KonKoma plus Joe Driscoll & Seckou Kouyate
The 9-piece KonKoma is built around two members of the legendary Osibisa, and whilst retaining the Ghanaian groove of those pioneering days, has also a very contemporary funk feel, hanging with saxophonist Max Grunhard and producer Ben Lamdin (Nostalgia 77). Bath audiences will also remember frontman Nii Tagoe from his work with Baka Beyond.
Joe & Seckou, a New York-born rapper/beatboxer/loop-head with the fastest flashest and funkiest of contemporary Kora players [and another BB veteran], it's a fusion that really hits the pleasure buttons and now boasts a full band. Very contemporary - but Africa is never so far away, either!
