Jewish Dinner Theater - Idaho Jewish Cultural Festival
This event is the first of its kind in Idaho.  Join us for an evening of great food, exciting music, heartwarming stories and even some dancing!
The chef at the Riverside Hotel is preparing a special meal to compliment the amazing musical flavors of the night.
The entertainment will be the world class Klezmer band from Bellingham WA Millie and the Mentshn.  For those of you who don't know, Klezmer is Jewish folk music that incorporates various styles and traditions ranging from polka to tango to middle-eastern.  The 8-piece band will keep you entertained while you enjoy an excellent meal. You'll also be treated to the visual presentation of "Heavy Mettle: From Shtetl to Tin Pan Alley". Here's the description...

The Jews left the shtetls of Eastern Europe and arrived in the New World bearing the gift of Klezmer. The music they had passed down from generation to generation over centuries quickly blended with the sounds in their host country. In Argentina it merged with tango. In the U.S. it fused with jazz, swing, Dixieland, and Gospel.

What became of the children in immigrant families such as Jacob and Israel Gershovitz, Israel Beiline, Aliza Greenblatt, Abraham Gornetzsky, Isidore Hochberg, Hyman Arluck, Aaron Gumbinsky, and Sophie Kalish and what was their influence on our music today?

After dinner, there's more music and dancing so you won't go away hungry, but you will go away happy!

The buffet dinner is a full selection of vegetarian and meat dishes

Israeli Salad with Pickles and Mint
Cous Cous Salad with Pine Nuts and Vegetables
