Madeline Miller, Author of Circe -a #1 NYT bestseller Madeline Millers first novel The Song of Achilles was awarded the 2012 Orange Prize for Fiction and was also a New York Times Bestseller. It has been translated into over 25 languages. She was shortlisted for the 2012 Stonewall Writer of the Year. Her second novel, Circe, was an instant number 1 New York Times bestseller, and won the 2018 Elle Big Book Award. Madeline's essays have appeared in a number of publications including the Guardian, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Telegraph, Lapham's Quarterly and NPR.org. Erica Armstrong Dunbar, Author of Never Caught: The Washingtons Relentless Pursuit of Their Runaway Slave, Ona Judge - a National Book Award Finalist Writer, historian & lecturer, Erica Armstrong Dunbar is the Charles and Mary Beard Professor of History at Rutgers University. She also serves as Director of the Program in African American History at the Library Company of Philadelphia. Her first book, A Fragile Freedom: African American Women and Emancipation in the Antebellum City was published by Yale University Press in 2008. She is also the author of Never Caught: The Washingtons Relentless Pursuit of Their Runaway Slave Ona Judge which was a National Book Award Finalist for Nonfiction https://ericaarmstrongdunbar.com/
Janet Benton: Lilli de Jong a Library Journal Best Historical Fiction winner. Janet Bentons work has appeared in the New York Times, the Philadelphia Inquirer, Glimmer Train, and elsewhere. She has co-written and edited historical documentaries for television. She holds a B.A. from Oberlin College and an M.F.A. from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. For over twenty years, she has run an editorial business and a writing workshop in Philadelphia, where she lives with her husband and daughter.
