Cooking Matters Brunch
Join staff, volunteers, and friends of Three Squares as we celebrate another amazing year of building community through our Cooking Matters program. We will share a delicious farm-fresh meal. This year's theme is School Lunch, but not the kind you remember!
Cesar Chavez Elementary was one of the very first sites to host Cooking Matters, and we are thrilled to invite you to join us in their beautiful auditorium. The event will begin at 11:00, with a delicious meal prepared by our staff and volunteer chefs. This year we are making a recipe we discovered while visiting the Oregon Food Bank last year. Shakshuka is a Tunisian dish of eggs poached in a sauce of tomatoes, chili peppers, onions, and spices. It's easy to make and absolutely delicious - the perfect Cooking Matters recipe! We're serving it with fresh Acme bread and a simple green salad with lettuce from our friends at Veritable Vegetable. (Vegan option available.)
The brunch is a chance for all our friends, volunteers, and supporters to meet each other, learn more the year ahead, and of course celebrate together. We welcome all friends, family, and anyone who wants to get involved with our organization.
We have great raffle prizes this year, with a grand prize dinner for two and a night's stay at the beautiful Carneros Inn in Napa. Other prizes include a stack of cookbooks from Omnivore Books and gift certificates to great local restaurants.
