Restoration Walks: Hoh River Trust Projects, Olympic Peninsula
Mike Hagen of the Hoh River Trust will lead a tour of habitat restoration sites along the Hoh River on the Olympic Peninsula. The Trust is restoring a 36-mile long habitat corridor for the benefit of old growth dependent wildlife and salmonid species. They are using forestry to accelerate and diversify stand development in industrial plantations, and are aggressively opening blocked salmon passage in old forest road systems.
Please meet up at the Peak 6 store parking lot on the Upper Hoh Road at 11am. Bringing along snacks and water for the tour is advised. Carpool opportunities from Seattle are available.
