Michiko Black and the students of MK Ballet present Sleeping Beauty, May 3rd and 4th, at the Redmond Performing Arts Center in Redmond, WA at 7:00pm. Michiko has owned MK Ballet since coming to America from Japan, first in Bremerton, now in Issaquah, WA. She is a former Japan National Ballet Champion, a Soloist in the Tokyo Ballet, a former Ms. Tokyo, and film star in Japan. She is a professional performer who has spent the last many years teaching her skills to her students of MK Ballet. Together, with Guest dancers from the PNB, Mr. Jerome Tisserand as Prince Florimund and William Lin-Yee as Blue Bird, and Mk Ballet's Sabrina Schulbach as Princess Aurora, the students of MK Ballet promise to entertain. Michiko works very hard every day to teach her students the technical aspects of Ballet, including skills necessary for performing. Many of her students have aspirations to become professional Ballerinas with Michiko as there mentor. The costumes are beautiful, most hand made by Michiko with the finest materials and plenty of "sparkle" as put by Michiko.
