Gilda's Club Memphis Charter Celebration
Please join us as we come together in celebration. Friends of Gilda's Club Memphis will become an official affiliate of the Cancer Support Community on October 25, 2018. A Memphis based 501(c)(3), Friends of Gildas Club Memphis is creating a place in our community where men, women, and children with any type of cancer, and their family and friends, may join with others to build social and emotional support as a supplement to medical care.
Board Members, Volunteers, and Supporters will celebrate throughout the day with free activities including:
Charter Ceremony 10:30am Cooking for Wellness Workshop 1:00pm Caring Art Workshop 2:00pm Restorative Yoga 3:00pm Cocktails&Conversation 6:00pm
Gildas Clubs across the US and Canada have been created in honor of comedian Gilda Radner - one of the original cast members of Saturday Night Live who died from ovarian cancer in 1989 at the age of 42. The first Club, with its signature red door, opened in New York City in June 1995.
Gildas Clubs offer FREE programs including support and networking groups, lectures and workshops, healthy lifestyle activities, referral services and social events in a non-medical, homelike setting. The mission of Friends of Gildas Club Memphis is to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action and sustained by community.
