Both veteran collaborating artists with Third Rail Projects, Marissa and Tara's work with the company is deeply influenced by their respective understanding and ongoing research into the nuances of the human experience inside of immersive settings where anything can and does happen and the dynamics of basic human interaction and responsiveness are continually at play. Drawing upon the fundamental building blocks of how we engage with each other through acts of deep listening, holding space, presence, and shared vulnerability, participants will take a deep-dive into what it means to build genuine pathways of connection and transformation from both the P.O.V of the audience, the performer, and the director.

Over three days we will move through somatic explorations of the nervous system; exploring how we take in, process, and interpret an experience and how this very individual process impacts an immersive encounter. We will unpack how to navigate performance interaction, conversation, communication of boundaries, sharing tasks, and sharing space, in relationship to how we observe, honor, and embody our experience and the experience of those around us. Participants will be able to expand their viewpoints on the performer/audience relationship and have the opportunity to experiment with applying their findings to their own work.
* A dance or theater background is not required, but a willingness to move and explore is a requisite.
