The women of Zemya blend beautiful, edgy harmonies in a repertoire that celebrates folk traditions from around the globe. They bring their passion for the unifying power of world music to Maine audiences both young and old. Zemya shares its name and spirit with the Bulgarian name for "earth."
The members of Zemya are: Deborah Gordon (Director), Joy Ahrens, Barbara Beckelman, Hildy Ginsberg, Caroline Hyde, Abby King, Ailish Kress, Constanza Ontaneda, Ann Swardlick and Sue West.
