TANGO, THE SONG OF THE SOUL
Argentine tango vocalist Andrea Eletti and Argentine pianist and composer Gabriel de Pedro, come together to perform repertoire from Carlos Gardel, Astor Piazzolla, Anibal Troilo, Mariano Mores, Hector Stamponi, Homero Manzi, and Francisco De Caro. Andrea Eletti (Argentine singer and producer of many tango dance and music events and recordings)  and Gabriel de Pedro (Argentine composer, pianist, and professor) will demonstrate tangos poetry, soul, and rhythm.

ANDES INFINITOS
Indigenous singer/guitarist/percussionist Maryta de Humahuaca from Jujuy, Argentina in her New York debut. The concert begins with a ceremonial song in homage to the Pachamama, deity of the Andean ancestral peoples. With incense and myrrh, Maryta enters the stage taking the audience through the aroma, sound, costumes and images to a deep space. With sounds of the Andean "box" (an Andean drum) she sings coplas ("couplets") and bagualas (a type of folk music originating in NE Argentina) referring to the seasons and ceremonies that accompany the course of the earth's life cycle. To the strings of the guitar she adds the poems and melodies of Argentine singer, songwriter, guitarist, and writer Atahualpa Yupanqui (1908-1992) and popular singer Mercedes Sosa (1935-2009), Argentine singer and one of the preeminent exponents of nueva canciĆ³n - "new song"
