** THIS IS NOT A BEGINNERS CLASS** This class is for intermediates with 2yrs and or tying 3-4 times a week for a year plus.
This is not a journey into learning something new- its a journey of learning the fine details of what can be refined.
Too often in rope, we are always looking for the new tie, when really we should be looking at the fundamentals daily to accomplish a smarter, smoother way to become fluid in movements, safety, and prevents long term wear on our bodies.
There will be a vetting process for this class.
Class for both days 10am-6pm Saturday 11:30-6pm
approx 1 hour for lunch each day
15 min breaks as dictated
Play party Saturday night is included and will start at 9pm.
Day one:
Intention of a tie- the whole class will be immediately tying.
Introduction - my experience can help you
(Pre requisite) Single column tie- the details: tension, rope handling, the knot.
(Prerequisite) Proper body manipulation for a tk.
Tension- how to wrap a tk & futo
Compacting knots- goes back to tension
Day 2
Friction- knotting when crossing lines.
Suspension line placement- your doing it wrong (including with and without body carabiners)
Cutting your rope to fit & why
Non patterned ties(groundwork)
Negotiation
Bonus material time dependent tie mean af- warming them up>how to make someone cry.
Required for this class:
One complete set of rope:
15 hanks(8-10m) (A few short cheater ropes as well)
One ring 6 carabiners 1 48 inch climbing strap
Strongly Suggested:
2 Blankets 1 to tie on. 1 for the bottom to stay warm Brow towel- for the tops Water/water bottles Small snacks suggestions: almonds, cashews beef/turkey/tofu jerky. Swedish fish, you need protein and small bits of sugar.
1 notebook- I promise you that you cannot remember all this. Sketches are encouraged.
Lunch will be provided for both days(dietary restrictions will be requested)
Dinner: youre on your own
Dress in comfy clothes:
Bottoms: wear layers.
Tops: make sure whatever you wear you wont get too hot.
Between breaks Jay(ThePrurient) will be available for questions.
Class price is $150 per couple (cost included Saturday night play party.)
The venue has onsite camping facilities, a shower, and an on site house with 4 bedrooms(please reach out to Jay for accommodations).
The venue requires you to sign a waiver, and you will also be required to sign a photo release for approval or denial.
After venue costs and food all additional money will be donated to Shriners hospital
Privates will be available for before and after each class: all proceeds donated to Shriners Hospital.
