And God did Shake the Pear; Shakespeare for Everyday Living
Dr. Scott Cox is chair of the Benedictine College Theatre & Dance Department and founder of Living Shakespeare, a rehabilitative theater program at Lansing Correctional Facility. He has created a solo act, And God did Shake the Pear: Shakespeare for Everyday Living, that combines the one-man show he has been performing for the past 12 years with inspirational and humorous anecdotes from inside the walls. The show won Best of Venue at the 2018 KC Fringe Festival, was one of the Top 10 Most Attended shows, and is currently in consideration for Best of Fringe.
The Department of Theatre & Dance will present two performances of the show Friday, Sept. 7, and Saturday, Sept. 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the Mabee Theatre. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for faculty, staff and the general public. Prepare to be entertained, educated and enlightened.
