Stories for the Young

Stories for the Young includes two popular childrens tales transformed into dance: Peter and the Wolf and The Horse of Many Colors.

Peter and the Wolf is the classic and whimsical fairytale of the boy who outsmarts the bad wolf set to the enchanting music by Prokofiev and choreographed by Ricardo Melendez, Artistic Director of Virginia Ballet Theater. The ballet is full of quirky characters and hilarious moments.

The Horse of Many Colors is based on a Latin American folktale full of fantasy and humor. Choreographed by Artistic Director Todd Rosenlieb, this piece was first commissioned by Ballets de San Juan, Puerto Ricos oldest ballet company and is proven to be a favorite of the young at heart.
