Chamber music for shakuhachi, violin, cello and piano by Amir Eslami, and Hon Chung Lam. Eslamis piece "Seasons" is full of driving Middle Eastern rhythms and polyryhthms, while Lams piece "Separated at the Human Labyrinth of Asakusa Temple" is like a gorgeous mountain lake interrupted by ripples on the surface.
The NEAVE trio will play The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires by the master of tango, Astor Piazzola, a passionate musical journey through all the seasons of year.
And on the heels of their international tour, Violent Femmes bassist Brian Tairaku Ritchie and James Nyoraku Schlefer will perform the one and only Shika no Tone; Cry of the Distant Deer the classic duet for two shakuhachi.
