Rehearsals are well underway for our upcoming production of Cinderella! with Dance & Choreography Showcase. Our Showcase will take to the stage in the first half of the concert, consisting of eight different choreographic works.
Cinderella comprises the second half of the concert, and stars SWHS senior and WIDT Principal dancer Elliauna Madsen, who audiences will remember as the Snow Queen in our 20th Anniversary production of The Nutcracker '12. Her handsome Prince is being danced for the first time this year by William Christopher, a senior dance major at Cornish College of the Arts. Christine Monaghan once again returns to reprise her role as the hilarious Stepmother, and the quirky stepsisters will be played by SWHS senior Caitlin Christensen, and CHS freshman Faith O'Brochta. WIDT Alumna Brittany Falso dances the Fairy Godmother, with Madyson Hunter (Clara from Nutcracker '12) dancing as the stunning and beautiful Gypsy. Machala has re-choreographed the entire Court scene, including a brand new pas de deux between Cinderella and her Prince.
Cinderella! With Dance & Choreography Showcase runs Friday, April 26, 2013 (evening show), Saturday, April 27, 2013 (2pm matinee & evening show) and Sunday, April 28, 2013 (2pm matinee). A very special Cinderella Character Brunch is scheduled for Sunday, April 28th, before the show. Tickets are $10/youth and $15/adults come eat a delicious brunch prepared by Christyn Johnson, chef from the Whidbey Institute, and take your picture with characters from Cinderella!
Ticket prices are $13 for Youth (17 & under), $18 for Seniors, and $20 for Adults. WIDT has moved to a more seamless and easy-to-use online ticketing system, Brown Paper Tickets. Tickets will go on sale at the end of March 2013.
