Weyauwega Lake Restoration is working hard to make Weyauwega Lake a recreational area the City can be proud of.
We depend on grants and donations to accomplish the restoration of the lake.
We are working to establish a youth fishing area by the old bathing beach.
We are looking forward to the Youth Fisheree again this year. Last year we had almost one hundred youth fishermen and their families participate!
This year we have applied herbicides to counteract the Curly-leaf Pond weed and Flowering Rush. We are also manually pulling the Rush to clear navigational lanes.
Our stocking program is paying off big. There is an abundance of Bass, Bluegill, Punpkinseed, and Northern. This summer a large Brown Trout was caught.
We are working with the City to add another Kayak launch near Peterson Park for Kayaking down river. Kayaking on Weyauwega Lake itself is excellent with the main channel open up river and down.
