Because We Care
In a culinary career that spans four decades, Sean Meteer has worked in kitchens all over Western New York. He has worked with and befriended far too many to list here. You know who you are. You know him.
Sean bounced around for years, until he met a girl named Elena, and everything changed. He settled down, had a beautiful baby girl, and built himself a happy life. Last fall Sean was given an amazing opportunity at Center Cut in Lewiston...
But not long into his tenure there, a rapid deterioration in his health shocked us all. An infection was eventually found in his spine. By this point he had been unable to walk, and in severe pain, for weeks. After months of antibiotics and therapy, he was beginning to walk on his own again.
A few weeks ago, another rapid downturn arrived. A new spinal infection. A surgery. More issues. And he has once again begun the long, painful, tedious process of learning to walk again...
Many of those reading and sharing this know all too well that life in the restaurant industry isn't easy. Very few service professionals imagine or prepare for being out of work for seven months. While Sean's medical and therapy bills have been piling up, his savings has been burning down.
Again, most of you know him - He doesn't want to ask for help, even though he needs it. We, his family and friends, have planned this without talking to him. We're turning his bad luck into a party in his honor. Sunset Bar & Grill has teamed up with Brickyard Pub & BBQ, Brickyard Brewing Co, and countless other restaurants, to give Sean a party he deserves, and the help he needs. Food, friends, music, drinks, and a lot of good karma.
Your $25 tickets gets you drinks, including BBC beers, and a buffet like you've never seen before. We'll add more restaurants as they confirm! Physical tickets will be available at Sunset Bar & Grill, Brickyard Brewing Co, and Brickyard Pub & BBQ.
