Women Who Make It Happen
VT CARES and RU12? Community Center are reaching out to you in hopes that you will join us for our first annual "Women Who Make It Happen" event being held on March 25th, starting at 6:00PM.
Leunig's Bistro and Lounge in Burlington has generously donated its upstairs, art deco inspired lounge, where guests will enjoy light hors d'oeuvres, delicious desserts, and a champagne toast at 7:00PM with Burlington Public Engagement Specialist and Vermont State Representative Kesha Ram.
Vermont CARES works for and with Vermonters affected by HIV/AIDS to promote wellbeing through a continuum of prevention, support, and advocacy services. RU12? Celebrates, educates, and advocates with and for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Vermonters.
Together, we are hosting an evening to raise awareness about the services we offer to our communities and the gaps that must be closed, particularly around issues of women, health, and safety. Young women are the highest growing rate of new HIV infections, and in Vermont we can reverse that trend through strong prevention. And, VT lesbians, trans* women, and bisexual women continue to experience domestic and sexual violence with limited access to LBT sensitive services. We are striving to make a difference in the lives of these women at risk.
Best,
Peter and Kim
