She got her start at the Chicago Art Institute Childrens Program and later studied art at the University of Washington, Western Washington State University and Evergreen State College working in oil painting and printmaking. She also studied sumi-e painting in Tokyo. She started teaching in 2017 by co-leading five weekly workshops, Sketch In the City: from studio artist to urban sketcher in five weeks, and followed that with a summer workshop, People in Places, in Olympia. Being an urban sketcher has given her the gumption to come out of the closet, pull out her sketchbook and start sketching just about anywhere. www.olysketcher.com Instagram: wingfjd Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/janedillonwingfield
