Permaculture Design Certificate Course
Shambala Permaculture Farm, Permaculture Design Certification Course August 9-24, 2013

14 full-day Classes, 72 Curriculum Hours.

Permaculture is an approach to designing human settlements and agricultural systems that mimic and enhance natural ecologies. We will be exploring ways to meet your food needs and make side income from the place you already live!

This course, like other Permaculture Design Courses, is based on an internationally-recognized 72-hour curriculum originally created by Bill Mollison. Each day explores a different topic (soils, plant communities, water, animals, etc) through the permaculture 'lens' of whole-systems thinking.

You will finish with a REALLY good hands-on grasp of how to design, and experience working collaboratively on design projects through understanding the curriculum of Permaculture itselfand leave feeling more confident with your own observation, drawing, and presenting skills.

The format will serve a wide variety of learning styles by rotating between the classroom, the field, hands-on projects, group activities, guest speakers and off-site tours of working models. Participants will receive a certificate of completion upon finishing the final Design Team project of the course.

Our curriculum is designed around a holistic and sociological perspective, in application around a designated hands-on design project as a group.

Workshop include ecological observations and a connection with nature and is facilitated in natural and contrived surroundings, inspiring an intuitive connection to nature and the social focus, that lay the foundation for Permaculture structures.  Learn to:
