Reading Series: Fundraiser
Typed Out is presenting two play readings on Friday June 15th and Saturday June 16th, raising funds for our NY Summerfest production of A Lovely Damaged Quality by Mackenzie McBride.
Our hope is to bring together actors, playwrights, theater professionals and theater enthusiasts to build a community in which art supports art.
Friday June 15th Play by Dara Yazdani
The critics have spoken: Nigel Davies's production of Hamlet sucks. However, in the midst of unanimous ridicule, Nigel receives a gift at his hotel room from an anonymous fan; a gift that sets in motion the strangest night of Nigel's life, and changes his perspective on the Bard's masterpiece forever.
Saturday June 16th the giants, part one by Matthew Jellison
In the city, theres a skyscraper to the stars. And in the skyscraper there are people. And sometimes they fall in love. And often times they have giant dreams and giant problems. Then one day, an ACTUAL giant - as tall as the skyscraper - shows up in the city and begins to tear it apart. The first play in a cycle, the giants, part one is an imaginative excursion into love, death, dreams, stars, and real estate.
~Proceeds from both readings support the production budget of A Lovely Damaged Quality by Mackenzie McBride premiering at NY Summerfest in August 2018~
